Part 2 - The departing~

After a quick fix by Mcguyver, replacing mango's fuel pump and all for yesterday, only to discover that the P1-racing's offset wasn't enough for the front, the tyre were rubbing agains the struts body and by a big margin. It's too late for my supplier to send a set of P1 with my Works.
And 'self' set the front camber to 3 degree and -1 toe~ mango is ready to roll out~
It seems like i'm the first one to arrive at the petrol station where the trailer had waited for our cars. And the instant i took this photo, i saw my friend's KE zooming by~
(>_<) and he become the first car to go up the loader~ nvm :P he'll be blocking off the rain and bugs~ thanks mate~ lol~
Mango is sitting nicely waiting to be taking into SIC to stretch his legs a bit.
And another handsome KE arrived~
And soon after the very person who talk-ed me into tho trip had arrived.
hey~ i think something is wrong here...

While i was looking one way~ a red-hot MX-5 quietly roll onto my back, yup~ literally rolled. It's fuel pump went quiet a few second ago~
And a R arrived~
And someone had bring their own 'moonshine' along~ (*special blended Ron 105 Booster)
And the All famous Bomb arrived in his Matt Satria~
Good thing in malaysia is you can find a mechanics to work on your car almost EVERYWHERE~!
that's one 14" AD07 i have seen in a long time~ Some more there's this tiny 4-pod hiding under the nice looking rim~
Finishing up our first load~ All tied down and secured~
A view from the side~
Then it's all down and chit-chat while waiting to filled up the other trailers~
Another shot of mango :P~
Second truck filling up fast~
By the time they were all filled up it's almost 8PM already~
Bye mango~ have a safe journey~ see you in SIC on sunday morning~

Prepping for my first SIC open track day~ Part 1

Just borrow these P1 racing rims from my buddy McGuyver~ it's from some old evo. Which had 7j and 27 offset. So i just borrow it for the event.

these beauty weights 4.7kg/pcs on my scale~ and from other friends who had used it most of them told me these rims would hold up good on high speed.
Load up the rims and my FZ-201 it's off to PohNee's place i go~
Sorry for pohnee's worker for these competition tyre were a bit too hardcore for his 'standard' machine to fit. It keep on 'hang' when it's torque limits reaches (which design to protect normal tyre wall if it's not fitted correctly)
And it tools about 80PSi to successfully press the tyre wall agains the rims (>_<) dang the wall is hard~
And walla ~ all fitted and ready to go on SIC's tarmac to rub some rubbers~

I think i won't be able to sleep tomorrow night~ :P

AE86 Rear 4-link in the making~

After much waiting my Rod-end (rose joint, fish-eye-joint what ever you all called it :P ) was finally arrived yesterday~ It's POS 16 and POS 16-L, where L for left hand thread.
There's only 10 unit left in their stock and from the look of the boxes, they were fairy old~ I go for the copper lining type instead of the all time favorite PTFE lining model for it's sheer strength. For the same POS 16, copper lining can withstand higher dynamic load than PTFE lining POS 16.

*thanks to The Dog Project by Edgar's posted info which you can find here.

And finally i can start working on my rear 4-link. I'm using 2.5mm thick steel pipe aka c-Pipe for some local industry reason. Hope it's strong enough to hold onto the hard time i'm going to give it in the future.
Cutting it to desire length and even out the end of the rod.
Making the screw groove which the rod-end will be screw in later.
 Finish tap-ed rod.
And that's how it looks like before sending to get it's surface sink chromed to withstand malaysia's corrosive weather~ I make the rod 10mm shorter than standard which each side have 15mm of play means it can be adjusted 10mm shorter than standard 4-link or 20mm max longer than standard 4-link. To adjust the axle at optimum running angle with the props haft.

I would have an extra set lying around for the time being. Who ever interested can give me a call.

Fluid Power~!!! Hydraulic E-brake on it's way~

After my first amateur Gymkhana event by Pop Cones. I'm totally fall in love with the extremely fun motorsport. And with mango's disability to turn in tight corners (my e-brake cable wasn't one piece :P it's "patch-ed") So i decided to make mango a higher level of e-brakes. A fluid one~

Thanks fully a got a few friends who had been modding their e-brakes for drifting purposes, i got all the info i need from them and i decided to go for the twin rear caliper design. For i need to keep the rear brakes for my track events.

And for the extra e-brake+pump i just walk into the big car accessories shop in Bukit Mertajam and get one off the shelfs. It's brand new from china and only cost less than 300 bucks~ Will cost me lot's more if i make it myself + not so good looking~ lol~

And now it's all waiting for getting the twin caliper brackets done and hook it up with the extra calipers~

till then cheerios~ will post follow up posts once i get back from Sepang on 20th~ Had to prep mango for the big circuit~

Some info on the Federal FZ201~

Some friends had ask me about the Federal FZ201 i just got last month. So, i took a couple more pic and captured some information on it to show you all.
Ok, what i have is a 205/50 R15 which is a bit wider.
And the Treadwear is only 60, yes 60! even toyo had a TW of 100~
The cool FZ201, too bad the wording doesn't stand out like 888 does~ maybe Federal can work on this a bit~ (^O^)
and the FOR COMPETITION USE only FMS sign~ BE WARN~ accept your consequences if you run these baby on normal tarmac~ hohoho~

now waiting for my friend McGuyver to borrow me his BR P1-racing rims to fit it on.

My first event trophy~ (^_−)−☆

And this is my first open event trophy i ever win. And a lucky win i should say. There's a few drivers who were better than me and faster than me, just they had made some mistake maybe due to stress. Any way, i'm officially falling in love with gymkhana now~ hope i got more chance to practice and take parts in more event later in my driving life~

Thanks for sharing my joy in motorsport, i really had a lot of fun that day. Hope meeting you guys soon~!
