Part 2 - The departing~

After a quick fix by Mcguyver, replacing mango's fuel pump and all for yesterday, only to discover that the P1-racing's offset wasn't enough for the front, the tyre were rubbing agains the struts body and by a big margin. It's too late for my supplier to send a set of P1 with my Works.
And 'self' set the front camber to 3 degree and -1 toe~ mango is ready to roll out~
It seems like i'm the first one to arrive at the petrol station where the trailer had waited for our cars. And the instant i took this photo, i saw my friend's KE zooming by~
(>_<) and he become the first car to go up the loader~ nvm :P he'll be blocking off the rain and bugs~ thanks mate~ lol~
Mango is sitting nicely waiting to be taking into SIC to stretch his legs a bit.
And another handsome KE arrived~
And soon after the very person who talk-ed me into tho trip had arrived.
hey~ i think something is wrong here...

While i was looking one way~ a red-hot MX-5 quietly roll onto my back, yup~ literally rolled. It's fuel pump went quiet a few second ago~
And a R arrived~
And someone had bring their own 'moonshine' along~ (*special blended Ron 105 Booster)
And the All famous Bomb arrived in his Matt Satria~
Good thing in malaysia is you can find a mechanics to work on your car almost EVERYWHERE~!
that's one 14" AD07 i have seen in a long time~ Some more there's this tiny 4-pod hiding under the nice looking rim~
Finishing up our first load~ All tied down and secured~
A view from the side~
Then it's all down and chit-chat while waiting to filled up the other trailers~
Another shot of mango :P~
Second truck filling up fast~
By the time they were all filled up it's almost 8PM already~
Bye mango~ have a safe journey~ see you in SIC on sunday morning~

Pop Cones~ here i come~ My first Gymkhana event~ Videos Section~

Here's the first video~ more to come later for uploading videos here is super slow~ (>_<)
Justin's run~

Darren's Run

Rueben's Run

My first Gymkhana event~ Pop Cones~

Finally, my first participation in a gymkhana - autocross event. Which was held in Han Jiang collage in Penang, Malaysia. I was there invited by a friend calling ups FR cars for which he said there were not many. So i answered his call and went~
But when i arrived, there were plenty of FR car's. A few nissan A31, RX7 FC, FD's, and not to mention, a lot of KE's~  and i found a parking place right beside my friend's car, from left to right, Reuben's means KE-Levin, Hafitz's KE-Levin, Arthur's TE-Levin, and my 20V mango~It's a 4AGE showdown~
And here's the course. A small parking lot beside Han Jiang stadium/hall.
And this is the cone we suppose to pop???
At 10AM, all drivers was call-up for a briefing~
And this was the layout we were suppose to follow~ A simple plan for new-bies like me~ (^_−)−☆
(stolen this pic from bro Victor~ :P hope he dun mind~)
And we start out morning walk~ lol, to familiar ourself with the course. I took 3 walk and a run, literally~ And soon after that, it's FUN time~!
Thanks Shng.Sam bro for the great pic~
All and all, mango's engine didn't suite the course too much. Every time i come close to the power band, i had to let go throttler already. And the 80% lock LSD isn't helping much either~ it keep pushing mango's front end out when ever i step on the gas when exiting corners.

Now i finally realize that i had to start taking notes on what setting i should have for each event. Lot's of homework to do and lot's more to learn~

Will post more pic after i got them from my bro+friends. Will upload some video tomorrow. (our internet upload speed slow like hell. Tooks overnight just to upload 50Mb of video file)

stay tuned~!

Prop shaft taken out, fix, install back~ in a jiffy~

All and all, the next morning when i took the prop shaft down and only remember that i'm running a T50 from a 2T engine. Which means it had the same small coupling as a KE does~ ouch~!
A slight comparison to the 'shoe' size~
Out with the broken, and in the new. I was amazed how easy it was. Just take out the pin which lock the cap in, then gently (not really needed for it's broken, isn't it?)  remove the coupling cap from both side and you can take the + section out already.
Same way you would install it back, slot in the + section of the coupling then slide the cap in from both side. BE EXTRA CAREFUL  here for the bearing in the cap might fall off if you dun take cautious.
And a tiny-winy happening in the coupling cap until you can fit in the new clips. It's done~
And lastly, RIP my worn, torn, broken coupling~

AE86 rear Traction bracket~ Beta V1.0 trial production

Finally come back from KL. Really took some time off there and goes around to do some market survey.

And while i'm away, the wider metal plate i ordered also had arrived. So, i took the material and the drawing and send it to my neighbor.
And start milling out the desire piece to my bracket.
With their 5 horse power mean machine.
That's carbite steel cutter he's using. slicing through the metal like tou-fu~ wow.
received it after 5 hours of labour (>_<) that's 40bucks/hour. Do the maths.
some slight alteration and on it goes. All the holes fit perfectly.
And finally, it's welded together and a brief comparison with V0.09~ spot any different?
And give it a nice red coat to at least protect it from rust.
All done and with *12.3 lb/in rated allen-key bolt with zinc coated nuts. It had 2 level setting which is 42mm offset and 64mm offsets.

I'll be making 10 sets in the first batch to test the respond. Any one interested can contact me via my contact link.

"Drift Playground" Report~

I arrive at the scene as told by Arthur by 6PM and what come into my eyes was a set-up-ed parking lot with all the fencing on     =_=||| ⋯⋯
And they had already begun playing from 3PM ~ by the time i reached there, Arthur had already finish 6 pieces of tyres. Changing into his 7th and 8th~ deng.
First action i saw at the playground~ An unknown engine KE70 VS SR20 TE72
 Zam's 16V KE70
 "dunno what engine" KE70
 Arthur's 4AGE-16V TE72
waiting for the turn to go in~
he manage to play the whole hours on those two tyre only~ sweet~
Shake down of the two 180SX

Mouse (the playground organizer)'s 180 in action.
And i spend 1.5 hours driving from Simpang-empat to Jawi via highway~ Had to take a stop at jawi R&R for the racing clutch is killing my legs.
A view where the traffic was "crawling" slowly like.... 3.5KM/H on my GPS =_="

After a small test on the playground, only to find out that mango wasn't set-up to play in a place so small. The gear ration wasn't responding well on the small space. Where everyone was drifting on 2nd 4000~6000 rpm. Mango can only pull around 3500~5000 at the same corners, same speed. Well under mango's power band.

Now i've had a wild idea to build a 4age-20v KE70 if my friend can spare me his car~ hahaha. Stay tune.
