KGC - 18-12-2011 Taj Collage Race event~ Part 2

After almost 4 hours of timing for race grid *super slow and time consuming for they only had one GPS unit. and the originally 3 laps running - warm-up lap, flying lap, and cool down lap; was cut short to 2 laps, only warm up lap and cool down lap. Which cause a few cars with weaker brake mod to almost ran out from the runway for we were force to make a U-turn at the entry of the S corners which is about 70M from the finishing line.

At 3pm finally all the cars had line up for the first 1.3L class race~
Han is warming up his KP's engine~ had to keep his foot on the throttler cause it's webber is running very rich~ lol
And check out the front formula tires from those 1.6L FJ race car~ Love it's Michelin logo~
Another familiar face from the MME race this year~ Federal FZ-201 semi-slick tyre~
Sorry wasn't able to get a good shot on the 1.3L race, was trying out panning shot which almost all went south~
And the big eyes catcher of the day~ Wawa~ brought to you by Chan Brother - Penang.
The satria 1.3 and saga BLM were boogie-ing fast~
And han's KP were chasing it's heart out~
A typical race day scene @ KGC, packed with viewers for free show~
And what had i said earlier..... han's KP heart were "out" oil temp went over the 150 mark and he had to retired early from the race. And a quick look at the engine, it wasn't looking good. The oil seal were leaking oil severely.
After that's it's the satria Neo class~ (with a BLM mix in) And there's a lady driver taking part as well~
Where she were second last and maybe were pushing her car a littler over the edge, and we can see a lot of smokes came from her car in the last lap, when trying to run away from the last car. And from the amount of it,  i speculate that her car maybe get a blown gasket/broken con-road or piston or the all time famous broken cam pro Gen 1 crank shaft.
And 2 corners later, she ramp into the tyre wall and stalled. Later we could see black smokes which we get when burning rubbers. And all the racers rush over to check her out.
And one of the driver bring her back to the grand stand. As where all the busy body surrounded the car to take a peek at the conditions of the driver. Which i wasn't really please with them was when the person who was giving first aid to her, (she was unconscious and had an asthma attack) shouting to the crowd to clear up and give her space and fresh air, the crowd still closing in to get a better shot with their cellphone camera.
It was 15 minutes later and with kind-reminder from us, the organizer only to get the fire extinguisher from the circuit's office and rush to the burning car to try to put the fire out.
But it's was all too late for the neo. We could only look from a far where it burns to the ground.

The fire engine only arrived 40 minutes later after the fire started. And the rain had start pouring down on us. I dun get to take any pictures for it's pouring hard and i was packing to go home cause it's already nearly 5pm. We still had a 2.5 hours drive home and a dinner stop to do.

Reaching home after 3 hours of driving @ 9pm+ for mango's axle wasn't working as smoothly as it should be. Will took it apart again later to check what is the cause of it.

Btw, just a small info for you all. They had accepted 112 cars into the race that day. (Where i purposely waited to be the last car to be inspected and numbered) which is way way above KGC's capacity. I can say me and a few of my friends agreed that we were comfort with 30~40 cars and a maximum number of 50 cars to take part in KGC's track day.

Which this is surely the least organize track day i had been to KGC so far~

*Sorry if my words had offended anyone who is reading my post. But it's strictly my view only. Thanks for reading.

Fun time in Kg. Gajah 29-12-2008

It's suppose to be a time-attack challenge in Kg Gajah, but the weather is not on our side... and we were looking at a WET track when we reach Kg Gajah  at 9.15a.m. after Mango's alternator failed during we take a rest at Bukit Gantang R&R while waiting for Suhaimi and his friends. T~T bad news.... mango might not be able to play in Kg Gajah today...
(everyone was busy looking for the problem for the battery wasn't charging, so no one remember to take picture as we were running late)
So after calling TK and conform a replacement is available, we decided to keep going with the remaining juice available in mango's BIG-ASS battery. And recharge it with Ranger as soon as it runs out.
But half way from Terong to Bruas, Panda spotted that then Charge indicator which was on since we left Bukit Gantang R&R turn off~ alternator is working fine again ^.^

After looking at the WET track, and a few attempt by some FF driver, we decided that we will shift to FR ^.^ and fun begins~ it's DRIFT time~! And i had many fun laps trying to drift mango around with AD07 at front and Ducaro at the rear. It's super slippery with higher off-set rims at front then rear. ####^.^ anyone got picture of mango drifting in track? Really appreciate if someone can send it to me thanks~

Somewhere after noon, while i trying to get a nap in Ranger and Ah Wei(12) knock on the window, and told me to get back up heading Kg Bota, Lao San was caught in a mishap.
We were relief that both LaoSan and two other passengers was safe without a scratch.  We took around an hour to pull the car out using Ranger's winch.

After that we headed back to Kg Gajah. And we found out that the track was drying up. So i switch to A048 at the back. And get ready to make some fast laps in the track.
Now we were talking some series time~  Soon everyone start to put on their 888 and 048 and start making faster and faster laps. I was happy that mango did a big improvement since his original heart times 1.03+ on March and i manage to squeeze out 54.80 yesterday. A big leap~ hoho~

And soon, it's time for Ranger to get into the track again. Our All time champion Suhaimi was dashing into sheekan and ramp the tyre wall. And lot's of tyre stuck under his car. (7 to be exec ^.^)
Good thing i bring two of my big jack and bring his car out of the tyre trap safely~  And after that, we leave the track with whole bunch of happy people on the Ranger.
Thanks Jeremy for the photo ^.^ ~
Thanks dude for the beautiful picture of mango ^_^

And i wanna pay my respect the only handicap driver of the day. Ah Tuck with his special mod-ed Kenari. He did fairly well, times at 59 second on the track that day.

New brake pad for the front twin pot~

During last track day, i can feel mango's front brake fading after 4~5 laps in the track, especially at the end of track after the shiken. So as usual, i took it out and check as soon as i reach factory.
My original Akibono brake pad wasn't looking good... it's was shinning like a mirror... indicating the pad is 'dying' ~  a call to my uncle as standard procedure.

This is what he send down to me. Entry level Bendix ceramic brake pad.

view from one side~

and view from the other side.

new brake pad installed and still in run in stages. So far there's little different on braking  power. But hope it would last me few more round in Kg Gajah's track.

Just love the look of my mango's twin port. (Maybe next pad change would look for Endless~ ^.^ in deep blue hohoho~)

45 upgrade to 75 -> Power Factor up~!

One Week after coming from Bali, and the first thing i rush to when i re-open my factory on Monday is to my Mango ^.^ (my wife was groaning behind me :P)

Stuck in the Key and turn *.* .....

......

......

it crank but won't start~ darn, back on the ranger to take my multi-meter and give it a test... 12.7V gosh... the batteries is a gonner. Well, it did serve both my original 4K engine, 4 times Kg Gajah track day and lot's fun time in the rain ^.^ so time for a new batteries.
In Memories, the old Nippon "DRY" cell battery
So i went to the batteries shop and after much ask around, i settle with a new GP-Atlas 75amp, 140 minutes battery. cost me a big RM310 *_*
Old one only rated 45amps and 70 minutes, no wonder you can't hold longer than one week without charging you up :P
The new BIG boy is  a 75 amps 140 minutes, double the capacity of the old nippon. This should be able to provide my 20V for all the power it need during 8K+ revving ^.^ yes~!
-
And Mango crank up nicely with the new battery in and he start up like -turn, 0.3sec of cranking and he fires up :D hurray 75amps~ hohoho.

Two time KG.Gajah Track day Champion in the house~

Finally, Beta version of my Track spec absorber using standard spring is done. The new TKA Motorsport Competition - Track Spec Absorber. So, as a starter, i manage to get our KG Gajah two time champion, Suhaimi to be the first person to test out the absorber.
The Official sticker for my new range of absorber, there's 3 more spec which cover from speedway usage and cornering. Kindly contact me for more detail ( Dennis 012-4806880 )

Our Champion's car pic in KG Gajah. Really nice looking and fierce.
Installing the absorber.
Running a 1.8 Mivec engine with stock interior. and a awe-some 3 layer full aluminum radiator.
slightly dented hood, he got himself in minor accident not long ago...
The absorber is in ^.^ and waiting the champ to test it on circuit, and sure, TOUGE yeah~
For the first round he tested around the industry area, he gives me a thumb-up, and giving a comment that it feels slight better than his tein type-hr. Will be waiting for his feed-back after testing them up at actual battle. till then ;)
