Progress~ progress~

Going to McGuyver's place this morning~ and saw his car were on stands all 4 corners~ he had taken out all the brakes and links for servicing~
And he slightly painted the rear axle (he is very picky on how the car looks
And set everything in for a new sets of absorbers for the front~
What else i would let him runs on? APM? Mando? NO~!!!! Surely it had to be a pure TKA breed~ lol~ Genuine Touge spec Special.Absorers.Modification absorbers from TKA~ XD~ (sorry for some self-AD here~ :P)
Well... as we were planing to use the slotted rotor which was taken out from my AE86's knuckle~ but seems like it won't fit on KE70's knuckle so idea abandoned~
We revert back to use the original KE70's brakes~ since McGuyver will still runs his 4K under the hood for a while, we think it should be able to deliver enough breaking power with a servo and pad upgrades~ And off we go to Penang island to pick up some 'nice' parts for his car~ ^^
All and all~ it's time to fill up the tummy for it's pass lunch time~ And~ we drove to the only Burger King in Penang~ about the location...... sorry i can't tell the places's name. Just let you know it's close to M-Power's shop and in between the sea and Jelutong highway~
Love their burgers but there's only one outlet in the island~ non off-shore around north malaysia~ (>_<)
McGuyver~ giving the 'what you wan?' stare~~~~ XD~
With a full stomach we set to the designated location we were heading~  My old friend Yus's place~ @Lorong KG Rawa near Volvo service centre~
And pick this bugger up(i had bought it actually)~ a AE86 T285 axle with a faulty LSD~ will try to open up later to check for the problem~ (though my true intension was to took the ring gear set to use for my Mango (^^) )
And after a few hours of chit-chat and going around a few friend's shops (also chit-chatting) and taking a hefty dinner @ Char Ling Park~ and we head for home ~  a tired but enjoy-able day....

*p.s. actually feeling a bit bad to had my bro handling the factory for a whole day (>_<) ~~~

Some minor adjustment~

Though mango's chassis rework is almost completion, but since it's fully hand-made so there's quite a few minor adjustment work had to be attend to.
And it's not an easy task as well~ just altered a small portion on the top left on the arch like this~
to this already taken one day's work...... it shouldn't be long.... 7~9 working days will cover-ed everything......

i hopes~ (finger's crossed)

Cosmetic for Mango ~

During last 'head-operation'
I painted mango's cam cover with my TKA iconic green. But i wasn't really satisfied with the result. So i took out the spare cam cover and re-do the paint again~ except this time... more seriously~ (^^,)
Only the part with original black paint was painted. 2K base paint with slow solvent to achieve flat and smooth surface. Then let it dry under the hot sun for 4~5 hours.
The result under normal fluorescent lighting.
The center part where the plug cover was is left un painted. So it's easier to maintain ^^~

Bucket Seat installation ^.^

After tune up mango and all, one thing clearly is my mango is throwing my all over the place in my seat ^.^ So it's time to pay someone a visits ^.^ a chair (bucket seat) specialist~
CSL Cushion in Juru inter junction area.
ant this is what i acquire from him, a seat adjustment bracket for my sparco
My Sparco finally awaken after long sleep ~ hoho~ it's time for him to come in service. So i taken my sparco and the bracket and i went to Chean's shop (chean exhaust) to install the bracket on to mango.
And mango had a shocking suprise for me hidden underneigh the seat.....one of the seat's mounting point was broken, totaly broke off from the body *_* ouch~!
So a new mounting point is in order, so i went back to my factory and dig out a piece of Square pipe. Bring it back to Chean's place and had his brother to fabricate thus weld back on where the old point should be... by the time all this was done, it's time for me to went back to my factory. So i leave the work to Ah Xiang and will come pick mango up tomorrow...

With the Sparco in place ^.^

13 July Track Day-Part 2

So~ continue on the photos~
Ah Xiangs' "original" wira 1.6 manual(also auto converted)
The 2 TE meet each other~ man, i like his front lip
mango was chased by Tk's KE70, (later spun out after 3 laps under tremendous pressure)
then giving chase to lao3's vios. darn he is fast
i just like to make lot's of dust in that corner :P
andrew chew (snappy-scav) grining happily after driving mango (for 3 months he had been bugging me)
and the power steering fluid over-flowed after the harsh driving condition
happy soul on a happy ranger (me, jay, lao3 and tommy ^.^)
Chean's Wira-lution-GSR
i was attempting a drift move, it seems nice at start..
then something went wrong, my tail snaped :S and i lost control of the stearing...

lao san's gf manage to get the footage untill before lao 3 push her away when my car went straight to the grandstand.

(thanks lao 3 for the video, and so sorry that i nearly crash into you all.) which drifting is a very dangerous driving style, never try it in any area which not dedicated for doing such driving and NEVER EVER try it on road.

the after match
Later after the rain ease, ah wei went in and play~
his car does perform well in semi wet condition using my custome made TKA asorber and Hero Milanza tyre.
Snappy and Ah wei's perdana giving pressure on the waja ^.^
(more in part 3) ZZZzzzz......

Kg. Gajah Open Track Day -2/3/2008

Day One~ really had to remind myself that i wasn't coming over to have fun but to promote my products. ^.^ coz i'm all into bringing mango for a spin in the track. with Ah Ann-Go as my instructor.

(finally got the pic and video from my brother)

waiting at the "pit" exit

and my mango went out extremely slow *.* (gosh~ 50+hp really is little)

it looks as if i was giving chase :P but actually i was being overtaken ^.^ and i was on my 3rd gear at 5000rpm through the corner (mango's 4K-c max rev was only 6000rpm) so i'm only going about 100 around that corner. wonder how fast they went during overtaking me ^_* but still~ i like this pic a lot thanks bro.

Dr. goh overtake me in just one corner ! @_@ dam he is fast.

only 5 laps out in the track then i was being flag out. because they saw lot's of white smoke coming out under my car.
so we had to stop and check the engine. after much check up we conclude that maybe the engine oil pressure is too high during high rev which cause it to over-flow into the combustion chamber. thus burning engine oil causing it to spoof white "cloud" lol~
after a few minutes rest, we went into the track again ^^ this time with ann-go behind the wheel, darn, his racing line really is accurate and fast, i think his lap time in mango is certainly 5~8 second faster than me @_@. then he show me a few other line which i can take in mango, different line give different speed and handling feeling. thanks a lot ann-go, really learn a lot with you behind the wheel. we run around 12 laps or so, and i saw the mango's temperature is shoring high, so i ask ann-go to stop and get out from the track.

back to rest in our little booth where we display our products ^.^ home made TKA absorbers. a few (fast) cars in the track was using my modified absorber. and certainly i would say they was quite satisfied with it ^.^ ~ *(you can saw the BC-M ppl was taking my ranger out for a spin to clean the track for debris ^.^)

After the islam friends afternoon prayer at 1.30, we begin our free for all track "training" this time i manage to drag our BC-M-12 - ah wei as my instructor. this time we tried a few new racing lines. as i start to feel that i was going faster on the track (coz i manage to up-shift earlier and earlier ^_^) suddenly white steam puffing out under the bonnet. i quickly stop the engine and slide the car into the service lane.

i think we just boiled the entire radiator *.* darn~ in just a few minutes puppy come charging in the ford ranger with bro on top of it. Love you puppy~ thanks.

tow bar on~ with ah wei on the wheel, we slowly cruise back into the pit... T_T

mango is home

ta da~~~ my mango finally reach home after 3 months stays in "ward" hahaha~

mango got himself a new set of front leg (AE86 arm and suspension system consist of tein spring, tka modified trd absorber with cusco pillow-mount) and tka special made absorber for the rear. a set of new power steering system, (steering leg taken from S13 combine with original tie-rod-end with camry coupling and a ae101 power steering pump), a new air-con blower and a new car alarm system.

oops~ sorry, all this talk and so rude of me forget to introduce you all to mango. he is a 1980 made Toyota TE72, aka corolla hatch-back. with a 4K(1300c.c. OHV engine) heart and K50(toyota K series 5 speed manual gearbox) transmission as his artery and standard rear axle.

mango is my first car (under my name) i have driven a toyota ae92 and currently driving a ford ranger. But for some reason i fall in love with old-school car, and some how get to know the guy from TeamBC-machine and from there saw Dr. goh's touge machine. a TE72. by the same time one of my friend's brother is selling off his yellow TE72(mango) coz some reason, so i took it in and start my mango project. too bad i didn't have my camera back then(it's with my girlfriend in KL) but hopefully i'll slowly record every growth of my mango and share with you guys.

cheers~ happy valentine days.
